Makeup is about accentuating your natural beauty. Uhm... False!

What is the purpose of makeup?

Well, kind of false. Yes, it's a good way to use makeup, but what's the fun in sticking with neutral. Makeup artists are considered as such because makeup is a form of art. It's another way to express yourself. So there's really no harm in experimenting with different colors and creating bright bold looks. Why not trade that beige in for an arctic blue?  So, here are 7 bright, highly pigmented eyeshadow palettes to try out.

Zulu Eyeshadow Palette

Juvia's Place is known for their highly pigmented eyeshadow palettes. So it's no surprise that one of their products would be on this list. Personally, I love every one of their products, but this is by far my favorite because of how bold and vibrant the colors are.  The Zulu Eyeshadow Palette has a beautiful variety of shades consisting of 3 shimmering shades and 6 matte shades including pumpkin orange, honey yellow, wine, teal, glimmering green, arctic, blush, rose, and eggplant.

Huda Beauty's: Electric Obsession Eyeshadow Palette

One of this seasons many trends is NEON everything, and if you’re trying to follow that trend or you’re just an out right Huda Beauty fan like me, purchase this eyeshadow palette ASAP. It's neon pinks and oranges are absolutely gorgeous and literally electrifying (hence the name). Once you use this palette I guarantee it will be on your staples list for the rest of the year. Just try not to get electrocuted.

Kat Von D's: Alchemist Holographic Palette

I know it doesn't look like much, especially to be on the bright and bold eyeshadow palette list, but I mean it's freaking holographic. Who doesn't want to look like a unicorn!? Lol, well maybe not everyone, but I do. This holographic palette has 4 shades: emerald green, sapphire blue, ultra-violet amethyst, and opal pink. The great thing about this palette is that it allows you to experiment with the colors. By that I mean, you can add any one of these iridescent colors to another color and turn it into a completely different, eccentric shade. It’s super fun to play around with, plus your eyes will be dazzling. Can’t get any better than that.

Thirsty Palette

My all-time favorite makeup guru, Jeffree Star, released his new limited edition “Thirsty” eyeshadow palette. The thirsty palette is a beautiful mixture of bright, bold yellows, blues, and metallics, with a few neutral browns and blushes to balance things out. If this palette sounds like something you know you would completely rock, I suggest you buy it ASAP. Hurry!

Natasha Denona's: Tropic Eyeshadow Palette

Natasha Denona did a great job on this palette. It's a limited edition that almost everyone has on their summer wish list, and they’re right to. Her tropic palette has 15 shades, 6 shimmer, and 9 matte. The palette colors are exquisitely beautiful, with ocean blues and exotic greens, and each color contributes to giving you that tropical, “I just came from the beach vibe”.
Shop the Tropic Palette ($129.00)

MFMG Glitter Palette

OK, so if you don’t already know what MFMG stands for, it's (Makeup For Melanin Girls). Please don’t take my black card away for saying this but, I have never heard of this brand or seen any of their products. I don’t know how I missed it, I don’t know why I missed it, but I missed it. Regardless though, when I ran across this eyeshadow palette, good god, I was shook. This is the most stunning glitter palette I have ever seen, and I LOVE glitter. So, if you like glitter as much as me, I strongly recommend purchasing it, black or not.

Soda water for the face? Apparently, carbonated water facials (also known as sparkling/bubbly/seltzer water face treatments) have been the rage in Japan and Korea—the two leading countries in terms of skincare innovation—for a couple of years now. Several of their high-end and elite spas offer this treatment to their clients. Before you dismiss it as just another popular but useless fad, try and read on first.

What Is Sparkling Water & Why Is It Good For You?

Sparkling water is just water into which carbon dioxide gas under pressure has been dissolved. It may or may not have additives mixed into it. Everyone knows it’s delicious when taken as a beverage but a few bright individuals have found out that applying it onto the skin brings great results. Beauty bloggers around the world swear by this treatment’s effectiveness. Fans of the sparkling water facial say it not only purifies the skin but also firms and brightens it up, tightens the pores, revitalizes the complexion, and removes dead skin cells without being too harsh or causing irritation. Moreover, blackheads also seem less noticeable after treatment. This facial is also compatible with all skin types. Sounds absolutely amazing, right?

How Does It Work?

Since the carbonated water is slightly acidic, it is deemed by aestheticians to be good for exfoliating the skin. The bubbles deliver oxygen deeper into the skin’s barrier causing it to look firmer and smoother while the mineral water is said to help keep the skin cells strong and plump by keeping it hydrated well. The facial also tones down puffy areas and gives the skin a more supple look overall.

Can You Do This At Home?

As mentioned before, some spas do offer this treatment using a SodaStream machine but you can do this at home as well and for cheaper. There are three ways of doing this facial.

The Dunking Method

1. Wash your face, as usual, using your regular cleanser. Make sure your skin is completely free of dirt, grime, and makeup for maximum results.

2. Mix one part mineral water to an equal part of plain carbonated water in a clean basin. The ratio of each part of the mixture should always be equal to avoid skin irritation from the harshness of the fizzing in the sparkling water.

3. There are two methods of doing this. The first being to soak your entire face into the basin and hold your breath for as long as you are able. However, I strongly suggest you make sure to carefully observe your skin and discover which method is best for you, because overdoing it can lead to an undesirable skin reaction.

4. Pat your skin dry using a face towel.

The Dabbing Method

The second way is to soak cotton pads into the mixture and dab it on the skin for several seconds. First, your face will feel tingly and even a little warm. Don’t worry, it’s normal. Once you wipe it off, your skin will feel 10xs cleaner and much more refreshed.

If you do this once or twice a week keeping in mind that, less is more. In a month or so, you’ll see a noticeable difference in your skin. Then again if you don't feel like doing either of those methods, there are tons of products that mimic sparkling water facials, and their results. I have linked a few below.

Products

The GIVENCHY BEAUTY Hydra Sparkling One-Minute Glow Powder is a micro-peeling powder that deeply exfoliates the skin working to detoxify and soften it.

TATCHA Rice Enzyme Powder, made of Japanese rice bran and green tea, starts off as a powder. Once water is added, the powder transforms into a foaming exfoliator. It works to brighten, even, and smooth skin. The best part about this product though is that TATCHA has more than one version of this powder made specifically for each skin type.

JEJU Sparkling Cleansing Water is a Korean product that is basically a bought version of the DIY sparkling water concoction. It can be used as a deep cleanser or a makeup remover, and results in intensely hydrated and tightened skin.

Who doesn’t wish they were blessed with perfect skin? Fact is, most people do but not everyone is. All the rest of us with imperfect skin can do is work with what we have and try to make it better. It’s never too late to start but experts say it is better the earlier you do. If you don’t have a set skincare routine yet, here’s what you need to know to start.

Know Your Skin Type

Do you have dry, oily, sensitive, combination, or normal skin? Knowing your skin type is the first process in setting up a good skincare routine. Most beauty companies have products specifically targeted for each skin type. For example, a cleanser for people with dry skin would naturally be more moisturizing than a cleanser designed for people with oily skin. Skin also changes significantly over time. While you may have had oily skin in your teen years, your skin in your 30’s might be dry. The products that worked for you then might not work for you now.

There are  5 skin types: dry, oily, sensitive, combination, and normal. Every skin type has a specific way to care for it. Here is a quick run through of each type, describing the skin and giving tips on how to care for each one.

What Skin-Type Do You Have?

Dry skin is the type of skin that doesn't produce enough oil. So the skin doesn't get enough of moisture, which then results in cracking, scaling, and itching. People with dry skin should moisturize often, and make sure to stay away from products that suck up all the moisture from their skin. That includes facial cleansers, and makeup.

Oily skin is the type of skin that produces too much oils. Having too much oil clogs the pores and results in breakouts. People with oily skin should stay away from greasy or oily products, and buy oil free moisturizers and makeups. Matte products, blotting paper, setting sprays and powders can help tame oil build up over the day.

Combination skin is the type of skin that may be oily in some places and dry in others. People with combination skin should use balancing cleansers to stop face from getting to dry or from becoming irritated from too much oil. They should also apply moisturizers that will soothe dry skin, and on oily areas, moisturizers with mattifying properties.

Normal skin isn't too oily or too dry. It is right in the middle, balanced. People with normal skin should only use cleansers that will not disrupt the balance of their skin, and light moisturizers.

Sensitive skin is exactly what it says, sensitive. This kind of skin can result in sores, irritation, or redness. People with sensitive skin should use products that are gentle and restoring, such as soap free cleansers or soothing face masks. They must also remember to be careful and not too rough on their skin.

Face Basics

After you’ve worked out what your skin type is, it is time to know which products you’ll need. These are the very basics of skin care: cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Some people use a 10-step skin care routine but for a beginner, that can be a little bit overwhelming. Start out with these four products and once you have the routine down pat, you can add more. Remember to add just one product at a time. Adding more than one at a time may cause your skin to react negatively.

Cleansers

The first step to getting radiant skin is cleaning it. Cleansers come in many forms such as gels, oils, foams, creams, and more. A clean face will allow the other products you use on it to work better. Make sure to wash your face twice a day. Once in the morning and once before turning in at night.

Toners

These will remove any impurities such as makeup and oil left on your skin after cleansing. Toners also hydrate the skin, replenish its pH balance, and give it the appearance of smaller pores due to the removal of oil.

Moisturizers

Contrary to popular belief, even people with oily skin should use one. Moisturizers act as barriers against external irritants. If you have oily and acne-prone skin, leaving the moisturizer out of your regimen might actually make it worse. Moisturizers also minimize wrinkles and keep dry skin looking smooth so makeup doesn’t settle into the creases and fine lines of the face.

Sunscreens

This is the most important product you’ll ever use if you want to keep pigmentation and wrinkles at bay. Sunscreens block the UV rays that cause discoloration, freckles, wrinkles, sunburn, and cancerous growths on the skin such as melanoma and carcinoma. People often skip this part, thinking that their makeup with a built-in sun protection is enough but doctors warn that it is not so unless you layer 7 times the normal amount of foundation you use on your face.

It's All Worth It

Properly taking care of your skin might consume time, but your skin will love and thank you for it. Plus, you get to reap the benefits for years to come.

Scalp stimulation is a big thing in the natural world because doing this on a regular basis result in lots of hair growth. I’m talking Rapunzel length in 2 weeks. Ok maybe I’m exaggerating, but I’m sure you get the point. In order for your hair to grow, this is a must.

Did you know that the best products for your skin are usually the ones you find in your cabinet? Seriously, the spices and foods that you buy at the grocery store can give way better results than the $30 facial cleaner you bought at Sephora the other day. Here are a few of my favorite natural, organic skin care products.
